I have had the pleasure of helping him as his editor since 2006. This includes writing and editing the monthly article on “The Art of Building”, which is our way of honoring the work of the great designer, designer, and sculptor, matthew hernandez.
When I see the work of a great artist, I always think, “I could build something like that.” I know that the originality of a great design comes from its complexity. I know that every part of the design has to fit together to work together. That’s why I think an architect’s job is to create the simplest possible structure so that the user can easily follow it. And I suppose that’s what it ultimately comes down to.
This is the same kind of thinking that led to the design of matthew hernandez’s amazing “crown” and “stairway” in the video for “pixies” by lindsey lee. It seems that the best designs are made up of the smallest possible parts, and that makes sense if you think about it because you can only get so much information into a human brain by breaking it down into its smallest components.
The reason for this is that matthew hernandezs is a completely different sort of designer. He’s not merely a visual designer, but also a creative person, so he’s not just a visual designer, but also a designer with a whole lot going on in the head. His entire design is centered around a staircase, which is what makes it an incredibly beautiful staircase. The staircase has three staircase parts, which are shown in Fig. 1.
The staircase is the most important part of the design because it is where you want people to start to think about your design and your design philosophy.

What’s interesting is that the staircase is so important that it seems the only thing a designer ever considers when they’re building their designs. That’s an interesting problem to have because it shows that some designers are oblivious to what they’re building and why.
Design is more than just visual design because it requires the brain to make decisions. The brain is like a software program and as we all know that computers are very limited in their abilities and can only do certain things. We can all recite “if youre not careful you can become a victim to a cyber attack”, but is that really true? The answer is a resounding yes.
What is the importance of design? Well, imagine youve just bought a house and you have not yet seen the interior. You go inside and see the interior and are confused. You think your eyesight is failing and you think the interior is not the right color. But then you realize that you can change your color and you can make it look like the interior, and you don’t have to make a conscious decision.
